nobody minds the kernel crashes, the ridiculously slow interface and the fact it has more bugs than all the P-series put together?
granted it looks good, wifi is great, but for business use I wouldn't really rely on it...
IMHO of course

maybe because people with the latest firmware donīt experience all that, and consider it STABLE??? Why would people take conclusion base on OLD AND DATED firmware???
more bugs of all the P series together??? you clearly donīt know how was P800 at start, even compared with P990 first firmware...

@ares
OK, so there are fewer bugs than the P800 had to begin with. Is that something to really be proud of? You expect things to get better than the latest, not a 4-year old phone.
Don't get me wrong, I don't think it's bad, and have been waiting for it since SE announced it's development. But now that I bought it, I am really dissappointed with it's performance being as slow as it is (which from the various threads I have read doesn't improve with later firmware).
Just an opinion, maybe when Voda UK 'allow' its customers to get the latest firmware I'll change my views. Though SE could do a better job with their sync software too... And keep in mind this is supposed to be a "business" phone... |

I see you have a Vodafone handset, hence the older firmware - that was i gave up buying branded handsets

hehe
I agree with the different bugs reported (even the VIDEO CALL bug) which makes 3G not so useful
but on the brighter side SE can upgrade our firmware on the net! So hope they could solve all our problems
Nice things with P990i
- Wifi
- Usable keyboard
- Good Camera

It's because of the keylock button that the p990 maybe my dads first non clamshell phone.
I love being able to browse the web over my wifi connection.
Watching videos recorded off our tv.
Listening to mp3's and radio.
The glowing keypad helps when lights are off.
All of the above in bed, which really annoys anyone sharing at the time |

I also canīt stop being amazed with the quality of the builtin media player, and sond quality together with bt stereo hbh ds970
And the RDS radio is even better than k750īs - autoscan, more lines of text for RDS, etc |

been using mine p990 for two weeks, its been stable, never crashed (updated firmware one day one), been pretty happy with it. The only thing makes me sad is seeing N95 news, that phone looks good. Just bought a hbh-ds970, i heard it goes well with p990. |

yes, the n95 has alot of recent tech in it, but: no touchscreen and no qwerty keyboard - something i also am loving on the P990

of course, no touchscreen etc..nokia don't really do touchscreen..and thats a good thing generally.
It's nice to see a thread which praises the p990 for a change..(i don't own one and don't intend too..i prefer nokia smartphones myself, but the p990 isn't bad at all..) |

your saying not having a touchscreen is a good thing in a UIQ users board, meaming people here do LOVE touchscreens, generally, and wonīt buy phones without it

for nokia...i can see how you interpreted it...of course uiq user's expect touchscreen...if your use to touchscreen, i can see going back to a querty keypad being something of an issue... |
