Just picked up a new Panasonic GD87 handset and i am more than a little impressed. never have been a fan of flip phones, but this one is growning on me, Screen is awesome and is bigger then the Nokia 7650, and the phone when folded is barely bigger than the T68i.
Loads of great features on it like the poly rings and the Zoom hi res camera (thats right zoom!). Missing Bluetooth but hey u canny win them all. Aimed as a leisure phone though, so bluetooth aint so important, keep my trusty T68i and 7650 for that .

I will take some pics with the 3 phones later tonight and post them here to let everyone see the difference in quailty. I get the feeling the Panansonic GD87 is going to win though.

GD87 has no Java support.
GD87 is exclusive only to Vodafone as well.
The GD87 allows sounds to be attached to pictures which can't be done on the Sharp.
Can anyone confirm if the GD87 can compose polyphonic tones like the Shap GX10? |

The above info is not really true
GD87 is supported EXEN for games which I believe is better than Java games, 3d etc?
GD87 is also about to be released on Orange (next few weeks) |

Thats interesting, what Exen game did you play that was better than a Java game? They are crap! You can only have one (basic) game at a time... take off your phone battery and it is gone!! |

GD87 has mms, not sure about GD67 though
With regards to EXEN, haven't played any, just heard they are more advanced than Java games, why would you need to take your battery off your phone? (unless you swap sim cards a lot?) |

The GD67 does not have MMS, but it does come with Load-a-Game in Germany, which is Exen technology...
Look at the German or Italian Vodafone Load-a-game website to find out more about the games..

They really arent that good, a good Java game is far more advanced, but anything is better than herding sheep, right? |

DIFFERENCES BETWEEN ExEn & J2ME(Java)
ExEn® and J2ME™ are not so different and ExEn® paves the way to a Java language based standard.
The main difference is that ExEn® has been optimised for advanced game features.
Every non-ExEn® phone manufacturer has its own specific Gaming API (even on top of MIDP 1.0, the mobile phone profile of J2ME™) which induces developers to produce specific code and intensive tests for every manufacturer J2ME™ implementation.
Today, ExEn® enables game inter-operability and deployment on operators networks, whatever mobile phone brand (phone list). It allows a true multi-vendor phones support.
This simplifies development, broad deployment, and execution of mobile games.
The future MIDP™ 2.0 standard defines a minimum set of game functions to be available in future phones. Even with MIDP™ 2.0, advanced and rich games will require new Game APIs that ExEn® can provide.
Today, consistent with its strategy of moving towards J2ME™ standards, standard classes of ExEn® Version 2 are set in conformity with MIDP/CLDC (Mobile Information Device Profile / Connected Limited Device Configuration), which addresses issues such as user interface, persistence storage, networking, and application model.
The ExEn® roadmap will feature new advanced game capabilities and future MIDP™ 2.0 Game API compatibility.
