Bought this phone, it's the dog's danglies. I love it!!!!
I think it has great possibilities all round but the area that I think it falls down hugely is music. It has wWindows Media Player, which is a great application but the phone has this really crap mini-usb connector that does not allow a standard set of head phones to be attached. Why would a company do away with the 3.5mm of 2.5 mm jack plug and give you a pair of really crap earphones and not produce any other earphones that could be used at the gym etc? The only way is to buy a adaptor to allow the mini-usb to 3.5mm which does not give great sound output.
Does anyone know where you can buy a pair of mini-usb earphones to make me love this great phone once again????? |

I think the only two ways of getting better sound out of the TyTN are:
1. Buy an adapter
2. Solder your own earphones cord onto a dissected TyTN headset cord...
I'm actually seriously considering doing the latter option, using a cheap but relatively high quality (say, Senn MX400/500) pair to get a friend to solder to the headset cord. Hmm... |

no adaptors available as yet. You can buy 3.5mm jack to mini usb adaptors but they do not work for the tytn.
I agree that this is a stupid oversight by HTC. The supplied headphones are pants.
There's a couple of threads on making your own adaptor / soldering new 'phones onto the existing cable on http://forum.xda-developers.com/
goto the tytn section.
Apparently HTC will be releasing an adaptor but no indication of when this will be.
