I read in a thread somewhere (I think it was over one SE-NSE) that if you tried slightly disconnecting the screen at one corner by pulling the connector out by the minutest of amounts the screen would come back on. Try partially disassembling the phone and trying this with each corner of the screen and see if it makes any difference.

If so, could be a problem with either your screen connector or the one on the phone PCB!

Ok I tryed each corner individually and also pulled the connector ever so slightly and both had no affect and still no backlight on the screen.

Ok I found out from my friend that my K750i backlight isnt working because he dropped the phone. I was told that maybe the keypad and the connectors arnt touching the main board properly and this is preventing the backlight from working but I have tryed a new keypad and the backlight still didnt work.

Does anybody have any fresh ideas to what might have come loose?

Did you try my trick on the W800i, the K750i or both?

If it was just the K750i, try it on the W800i, it might work on that

The w800 has more of a problem as it just wont start up now for some reason and just a backlight problem on my K750. I tryed the trick on them both and neither worked.

The keypad on the K750 is disjointed, the black panel comes away from the rest of the keypad but not fully, its still atached somehwere. This might be the problem but not fully sure.

Try swapping the mainboards (PCBs) over ONLY in each phone so that the k750's pcb is in the w800 and vice versa. See if that makes any difference at all with a totally different lcd keypad, etc.

Ok swopped the main boards over just and the following happened:

K750 still had no backlight and W800 light up but did not start or vibrate which suggests that the backlight problem is on the main board somewhere. I dont know why it all works but when my mate dropped it, something broke, but I dont know what.

If anybody knows how a K750 screen lights up, your help would be appreciated.
