is there any other than smart vas and im+ that u can use on the k800. i know that the debranded se phones have my friends but my phone is branded as o2.

Try the search function in this forum. 
There are lots of IM clients in Java, a lot of people seem to like mig33. Have a look at the getjar site too and you will surely find something you like.
