i don't know if they have been rewrited for s60 3rd edition. As i have a 6620 which is 2.1. Agile mesenger its the best application for mesaging whit icq, aol, msn, google, yahoo. And its free. File explorer let you see the system folders. I'll explain the others later because i am posting via my phone. |

Hi all,
Agile Messenger has been ported for S603rd Edition but is no longer free and by a lot of accounts is not as functional as the previous version and is some what unstable as well.
Opera there is no need for it as the new Safari based browser is both fast and excellent.
Resco Photo viewer is in Beta testing and not yet commercially available.
Ultra Mp3 no idea on this one but the inbuilt music player on 3rd edition phones is good.
DVD player again no idea but the installed Real Player works very well with properly converted material.
Quickoffice and Adobe PDF viewer come pre installed
File explorer at this time there are no fully functioning ones available those that are available have limited functionality due to the increased security in 3rd Edition.

correct agile is no longer free
some people like opera better but nokia "web" is faster but not as stable from my experience
resoc sucks.. use splashphoto
best music player is oggplayer.. but not available for 3rd yet.. inbuilt player is decent but can't filter out ringtones in "scanning" process
real is good.. handles mp4 very well.. but lacks some "extra" functions..
Y browser can view system folders

Hi all,
For those that want it Ogg play V1.7 beta is available for S60 3rd Edition at this link http://www.noeman.org/gsm/showthread.php?p=75165
you need to register to this forum to be able to download it and as i am happy with the inbuilt player have not tried it.
As far as the Nokia browser being unstable i have had no problems with it in either my N73 or N93 but have heard of plenty of people that have had problems with both Opera and the Mini version. Obviously personal preference decides what apps you add or not i don't add anything if i can help and do believe this makes for a more stable problem free device but is just MO.

I use an E61 and have found no reason to install Opera yet. As a matter of fact, the built-in web browser outperforms Opera on a number of points.

Hi, I downloaded Google Maps on both my N80 and N91, and I must admit that it's the coolest thing ever. It's exactly what I've been looking for, for a long time, Thanks.
Any other good apps for 3rd edition S60?????
A bit off the topic here but does anyone here know the latset FW for N91, Thanks. |
