The new Nokia terminals have what they call Pop-Port and this how nokia explains what it is:

"The Nokia 7210 phone is also the first Nokia phone with a Pop-Port™ interface connector. The Nokia Pop-Port™ connector will be a primary interface connector in future Nokia phones. It has been designed for the mobile environment and supports advanced functionalities, such as digital accessory identification, stereo audio or fast data connectivity. Pop-Port™ will significantly expand the choice of innovative and appealing accessories for Nokia 7210."

As whell as I know, this has been available on all Ericsson phones since the T28 and now 3-4 years later nokia is making a big thing out of it. I think thats a proof that Nokia technicaly sux!

I think it has more to do with business decisions than technical innovation. Ericsson has always made/lost money in being first with something. Nokia makes money by adapting it later on when the market matures.
