With the bluetooth dongle in place, the connection between PC and t68i is made to exist as a link via Com 1. This is how files (e.g. photos) are transferred.

Therefore, can this bluetooth connection replace a data cable for all conceivable situations where a datacable is called for, such as de-simlocking, for example, or is a physical cable actually needed for such an application?

i don't think so, it has to be a physical cable imo, the phone knows somehow, i guess, i am not sure, but i think you can not flash or unlock with bt, because it is still a bt connection and the computer shows it clearly, so the ericsclient or whatever you use to flash/unlock, is only configured for the cable, so it will not consider the phone connected... however i am not positive about that, so maybe someone has done it, please tell.
