Well, thanks guys. Having just got my new t68 and reading through this forum for Ericsson easter eggs, someone (obviously tongue in cheek) suggested #05#. My phone has now lost its start-up animation and won't let me access the phone book for a period of time after switching it on.

How do I recover from this? Hope someone can help.

Thanks
David

I went to Settings/display/user greeting/ and it had set itself to None. I then changed this back to Standard and the delay problem accessing the phonebook went away. Strange this - it had been searching for about 10 - 20 seconds when trying to access the phone book or the call list.

Everything ok now...thanks for the suggestions!

This happens when you have GPRS enabled....and you don't support GPRS...the phone tries to find GPRS signal.....
Try use only GSM ..not BOTH....

Go to menu-->connect-->data comm.-->Pref.Service--> GSM ONLY

I was having the same problem with R1B .. Now using R2A the problem has been fixed
