Hi, first post for me although this site has been a minefield of info for years.

I have recently upgraded to the W810 and find the signal is awfull, no calls in the house and on the drive home i'm lucky if the call lasts for more than 1 min before it is dropped.

The signal indicator when the phone's not in use shows full, just like all my old phones, also other mobiles show comparatable strength for the same network. However, as soon as i make a call the signal strength goes right down, then back up again once the call has dropped, previous to this phone i've had the Z600 and the S700i and these had no signal problems or call dropping.

Is there something wrong with the phone, would a reset fix it? before i launch the phone at a wall.

It's getting too cold to talk by the garden shed, as that's the only place the call wont drop!!!

The same exact thing happened to me too. I have t-mobile in the west suburbs of chicago. I have had this issue on and off since last december. I call up tmobile, do a trouble ticket and it's usually fixed in a day or two. Wait a few weeks and repeat. This is with my k750 and my friends k700. It has not happened since i got my w810 though.

My phone is O2 UK, didn't seem so bad when i first got the phone, well not noticeable anyway, just seems that within the last month it has got really bad. The phone was dropped once but nothing too serious, no damage to the case, could this have done something to the antenna?

I took the cover off and there was nothing visably wrong with the antenna board. Current firmware is R4CE012, The auto update shows i have the latest version??

my former W810 had the latest firmware and it had excellent reception. a firmware upgrade may solve the problem.
