I thought the reason it has Cybershot branding is because the Cybershot department for Sony made the camera, or helped to develop it hence the name Cybershot on it. I don't think they just stuck the name on there for the fun of it. |

@apolloa
The interface has been borrowed from the Cybershot range but also, I hardly think Sony would licence use of the brand name if didn't think the K800i it was good enough.

what is every one getting up tight just casue one person dosnt like it,
if you dont like it then voice your openion in the bolkia forum and u might get a lott of like minded people their.
i for one thinks the K790i/K800i is good enough for the cyber shot label and hope more are to follow with 4 and 5 mp and optical zoom

well it uses cybershot menu, cybershot imaging technology, a Sony lense and camera module so it's certainly got cybershot heritage.

@max I
I'm not sure the lens is Sony. I think they're bought in from a company called Lardan

I have a Canon 8 mpx digital SLR which is a fantastic camera but obviously too big to take everywhere all the time. I find the K800 a good enough snapshot camera to not warrant buying a ~5 mpx compact for those times. |

Just remember, The K800I / K790I are the FIRST products in the new Cyber Shot range of camera phones that Sony Ericsson will make.
Lets see what Sony Ericsson come up with when these 2 models are up for replacement. |

Yeah,all these points are fair enough,im just saying that when i got it at first and put the photos on my computer(bearing in mind it was the first time id seen a pic from the k800i),i was dissapointed.I think the next gen of cybershot phones will be great though. |

I'll take your word for it. I had assumed it was Sony, since the K750 lense is made by Sony and it's not even cybershot branded (Sony made the whole camera module actually).

I think it is a phone that takes great pictures, so it is worthy of the CiberShot brand. if Sony used their brand in that phone is because they thought the phone was respectable, IMO.

Actually it's a lot better. Not just the MP, but the grain is much finer too. Much better quality pics as well as being higher megapixels.
