As my k800i has a USB connection to my computer, can I use it to make Skype calls (without o2 charging me for network usage)? |

With the right app on the phone I think it could be possible.
You can use your PC's internet connection by making a bridge conncetion of the LAN and Phones installed NIC drive. I would also think you would need to figure out what proxxy settings to use.
Anyone tried? I will have a look into it next week.

I got to thinking and I am sure it would be possible given the right bit of software was out there to be had.
However there are many better ways that you can communicate over IP, wouldn't it just be quicker to use something like MSN Messenger to type to the person, use the voice functionality of MSN Messenger or use something like TeamSpeak. In all cases all you will need as a minimum is a mic or mic/headset and the mentioned programs are free to DL and install. |
