I just bought K800 two weeks ago and I noticed that whenever I take picture in an okay lighting place, (with the mode FLASH - AUTO) he picture becomes dark... With the flash.

This is with flash...

After that I tried switching the FLASH mode to OFF, the picture is... much better.

This is without the flash...

I can't help but wonder if there's anything wrong with the camera. The flash is not serving it's purpose...

in the second photo, it shows the orignal scene you wanted to take the photo. That scene has enough lighting to take a photo with out the flash. If you use the flash in areas with ENOUGH light not to use it, they come out darker...

Yep i noticed that the flash is only useful when the object is close. If its further away ur better off turning the flash off as its not powerful enough and will make the picture look dark.

The first pic looks like a scene from a horror movie.

in what way does it look like a horror movie? just because its dark doesnt mean its scary, unless someone's afraid of the dark. i kinda thought she was clubbin or sumthin.

Look at that hair all on her face. Reminds me that girl from The Ring.

lets back to topic peep from the 2nd pic there's more than enough light source for your K800 to snap a picture.. no reason to use the flash though..
try to shoot something completely dark with the flash in auto mode..

The thing is you can only set the flash to auto, off and red-eye. So if the flash goes off the phone obviously thinks there isn't enough light. The first poster could not hav forced the flash on manually.

then you are probably obstructing the light sensor (little dot by the mirror) I just did it on my phone just now. too much effort to put pics up though
