The p990i is available now in saudi arabia with starting price of SR 2,500. But the stocks will be coming next week |

Thanks spine for the update. i wanted to be on the positive side even though when i called Axiom and Etisilat yesterday they cannot pin a date.
Sony cannot as well give firm date, as they said there are some shipment coming in but firrm dates. They added that this has been delayed already from the orig sched hence they wish not to give dates to be on the safe side.
I have not physically checked the market with the middlemen and establishement. I wanted to wait for the actual launch from Sony so that price is stable. But how loooooooooooooong shoudl i wait mooooooooooore. |

@spine6, i am based in Dammam/Khobar. again i wish to buy in sony showroom itself to have a more stable price, at the same time to have a complete set of accessories in the package - i had a bad experience already when i purchased before the Siemens SX1 in an establishment where some accessories if not missing are often exchanged to a different accessory (usually to an inferior type).
I think the sony showroom representative is getting accustom nowadays of my constant calls/query. LOL.
Why a pre-order is not available in either Sony, Axiom and Etisilate for this model? |

Not all the companies have the stocks but here in riyadh there are some stores with connections in dubai are getting some stocks maybe tomorrow. The price is still ranging from SR2,500. I hope the phone is some what stable and with a bst-34 battery. |

i m in abu dhabi i have p990 since 1 week i made the firmare upgrade and i m happy with it
my big problem is that arabic software not availble anywhere. just one higri calender software availble in SE shop but not really usufull
anyone have an idea about future software for arabic language enable
that permit to read at least our arabic sms.......

I'm based in Khobar as well and Axiom is already selling P990i @SR2,900+ and SR3,100+ with 1GB memory, but it comes with bst-33 battery. |

@spine6 - sorry for the very late reply. yep, the arabic thread is in english. its actually entitled Arabic Forum. don't worry bro, its not written in arabic. not everyone there is an arab national. like me, im a filipino living in Dubai, so basically i just wanted to share or update news regarding phones here in the UAE.

you got a low price there. Here in riyadh it now cost SR 3,500 and i saw the lowest price for SR3,300. What firmware is on the phone?? Does it work well?? Any problems so far?? |

i haven't utilized the old P-series hence cannot comment on the difference, and this is my 1st Mobile/PDA phone. Generally it's ok and quite responsive. I have grown to luv too soon the predictive text as im too slow in doing my sms. Fun part is - u just have too many choices as SE makes it convenient 4u.
Wifi (?) no nearby hot spots here where i am situated in Dammam.
Sychronising Outlook, i have to check further for the emails - there is somethign (perhaps) i have not made correct hence its not sycn-ing (im a guy that have tons of business emails (30emails inbox is avgly minimum a day, sent items.... sigh!).
But contacts and Calendar and others.....Indeed A Breeze. 
Was laughing when i left ofc last night - as am trying to junk-in too much in my unit...thinkin p990i as a laptop. LOL!
And by the way, i have posted in one of the topics ...seeking confirmation if the pre-packed headset control can control and pause the music while playback (whenever required) (even no incoming calls). Although it was advised earlier otherwise. Please note well that it can halt/pause the music during playback. One feature missed from my previous Siemens mp3 phones.

should have written as 1 feat i have missed alot from my previous Siemens.
Just to add, no application crashes so far. Good thing no Wifi and net browsing yet made - guess it will take me time b4 i advance to that. My main objective of getting this phone is to have all my emails accessible wherever i am.
Im utilizing 1GB memory. Battery life is fairly OK like regular symbian phones. Office application is great. however document with password and excel file with embedded graphics failed to open - well even my older symbian phones...nothing new on that end.
Firmware upgrade, no plans yet but i'll check that topic after this to know what;s new added benefit. I would like to assess first what came in the box so i can understand the firmware development.

Thanks for the information. You check all the branches?hehe... How about your RAM when you first open it how many MB??? I hope the p990i here in saudi arabia are fixed already. i thought they will sell the new phones with BST-34. |

Mates, quick queries for SAudi market base.
1. is Stereo BT Headset HBH-DS970 avaialble in Saudi Market?
2. What case are you utilizing. am being dumb to accept from Axiom the case for P910 series recently  Now am checking the market again.
3. How 'bout Screen protector? I've checked AXIOM and they are selling imate screen protector which is on the pricey side!? Any alternative
