I decided to take apart my k800i today as i noticed some strange snail trail like marks on the LCD screen
They looked like water ingress to me, they're hardly noticeable when the lcd screen is showing colours (NOT dead pixels etC) but when the back light is on and the screen is black the streaks show up as whiteish in colour.
I think some kind of liquid (probably beer!) has gotten onto the backlight portion of the screen so im buggered at cleaning it.
However i took a few lil pics of inside the beast.
It came apart pretty easily and you might be pleased to know that changing the entire fascia should be easy as all the electronics are together in the middle section so no removing bluetooth aerial etc.
The side panels of the fascia are part of the front so "skinning" the entire phone should be a doddle.
For those who try to take apart themselves, i just needed the same torx screwdriver as for my k750 and a small watchmakers screw driver, only 6 screws to take apart in total.
The rear fascia simply pulls off like the k750 etc BUT when you pull up gently, the TOP tabs need to be slid upwards towards the top of the phone then it comes away easily.
The front panel came off pretty easily, the only problem being the Memory card cover stays attached to the phone stopping you from moving the cover away from the phone.
It was annoying me so i just pulled a bit hard and it came away from the phone without breaking
It popped back in place fine afterwards!
enjoy
