Now I know I've read somewhere on here that people were having problems with Disc 2 Phone creating a playlist in reverse. I can't even seem to get in reverse as it tends to alphabetize everything. Is there a way not manually sort the list or not.

Frustrated I just decided to copy my playlist directly from Windows Media Player as I created it. And then for some reason it will only copy a few songs before it claims the rest of the list won't fit. I've erased the memory card already so I'm totally confused.

Is there not a way to have control of playlist order and transfer?

You can create a playlist in itunes, save it as a exported playlist (xml) and then drag the saved xml file into the D2P plalist window, then trnasfer that playlist to the phone.

D2P will recognise and find the files specified by the itunes playlist xml file, as well as use the correct ID tags. It will copy in the order specified by the itunes playlist.

@max

Thanks for the reply. I am unfamiliar with itunes. Am I correct in assuming it is only for Apple or Mac products. If not, is this a media player or something that I can just download to my PC?

Gawd, I must sound like a dork! Ha Ha! Thanks for the help though.

iTunes is a product of Apple but is compatible with Windows...

Yes, I recommend iTunes for arranging your music file. This software is great and usefull.

I use disc2phone only to convert the songs to the phone's default bitrate, then I change the song information, but the playlists I create with my PC (using any program) does not work like I want, so I use my Walkman Playlist editor (on my W800) to create the playlists. I think it is the 100% playing guaranted way, but not the fastest one.

Yeah I've been rearranging files in the phone with the playlist editor too.

As for Itunes, turns out it is already on my laptop. Who knew?

Anyhow found that not all of my music is included in the Itunes library for some reason outside my feeble tech grasp of things. So as of now I have yet to sit down do some reading and figure out how to sync my music folder with Itunes.

It doesn't put them in order on mine?
And it doesn't create a playlist, just transfers the tracks over.

it doesn't create a playlist, but it does create a folder in "artists".

So the only way to copy a playlist is to transfer all the files to the phone and then create a playlist again on the phone?

yes if you want a playlist, then just add the whole folder to a playlist, no need to go searching for all the songs you want, because disc2phone has created a folder on the phone with the songs you want. This is MUCH MUCH easier than make a plylist from scratch. You can use itunes to design as many playlists as you want, then use disc2phone to copy each playlist to the phone.

Otherwise you can just go through your folders on your computer and manually copy the songs you want into a folder on the phone (what I usually do), then add that folder to a playlist.

I'm just suggesting itunes/disc2phone for people who seem to want a way to create playlists easier than the full manual method I use.

This doesn't happen for me.
I've dragged an xml playlist from iTunes into disc2phone, it copies the songs in alphabetical order (not the playlist order). Then it transfers the songs to the phone but puts them in the artists folder, thus making it impossible to add specific songs onto a playlist without having to trawl through the song list and adding each one individually.

hmm okay, I'll have to have another look, I can't remember but I thought it was a bit better than that.
