Hi,my old LCD screen on my w800i broke so i bought a new one.I dismantled the phone and connected the new screen up and closed the phone again....When i turn on the phone,it is just a blank white screen,i tried the firmware upgrade on the phone but still doesn't help. All the buttons/functions work but i just cannot see where im going! Can anyone please help me on this? I would be very grateful, Thank you

sounds like it's either a problem with the connector on the phone, or a software problem that can't be fixed with an update.
The other option is that the screen you've got is faulty - any sign of any damage on the screen's connector, or anywhere on the green ribbon that goes from the connector or round the joystick?

no i dont see anything as of yet.But i noticed with the old lcd screen-the ribbon is green but with the new lcd screen the ribbon is a gold colour. What do you suggest i do?
All the connections on the back of the new(gold) ribbon are in completely different places to the old one.it lights up but just a white blank screen

yes that was my first impression when i saw it as the ribbon was a totally different colour,it goes into the lcd connection alright but the rest of the connections at the back of the gold ribbon are completely different to the original one. |

the other option is that it's a non-genuine screen, probably from some random manufacturer in China or the Far East, and isn't compatible with the W800i or is just faulty, where did you get the screen from?
