W700i vs W800i |

I recently lost my W800i and the insurance company has given me a W700i as a replacement, to be honest i feel cheated, they say it is the same phone, but i have noticed quite a few differences, ie no zoom function when image size is set to large on the W700i, phone came with a smaller memory card than the W800i. Am i being cheated should i take this further? Also the camera cover just the slightest movement sets it off thus wearing my battery out. Anyone with advice please pm me i would greatly appreciate any help. |

I think u were cheated. Every1 knows that the 700i is a slight downgrade and i think it's only fair that u should've been given the 810i! My friend lost his 6230 they replaced it with 6230i and not a 6220. So take it further mate.

Cheers for that *Dust* I have been trying to explain that to the insurance company, they are like it fits with the specs of the W800i, at first they offered me the W810i then suddenly they said no they not going to do it for me. I am so angry they made me wait two and a half weeks before giving me a downgrade to my previous phone. I am really disspointed on the way they have handled my loss.

Hi Mate
Could you please send me the links to a site shows the differences so i can take it to the mobile company. The store manager said on the phone 810i the upgrade to the 800i, i was shocked when i opened the envelope to find the W700i. |

i think you should only accept a w800 because even though w810 has some better thing (edge etc..) I think that the things that w800 has better than w810 are more important...like duration of the battery |

but w810 have slight larger screen, updated menu, btooth v2.0, use dpad instead of fragile joystick.
Clearly w810 is better than w800 |

Why would they (the insurance company) give you a W810, when it is worth more than the W800? I do feel for you, but I'm guessing one of the reasons why they didn't just give you a W800 back, is that it's been discontinued (with only the reserve stocks left) in favour of the W700 and the W810. And seeing as the W810 is worth mmore than the W800, it seems just to give you the W700. I guess it's just too bad.

Hi shaliron
The phone store offered me a W810i then suddenly changed their minds saying they not going to give it to me. They debated it for two weeks, the store manager said on the phone he was sending a W810i the upgrade to my phone then the W700i arrived in the post. I think i should be compensated for the downgrade and the long wait i had to take. The W810i is retailing at the same price the W800i was when i purchased it, i would think that you insure your goods for the cost price not at the depreciated price , they should lower premiums if that is the case. Anyone been ripped off by a mobile insurance company and want to take it further with me? Two heads is better than one. |

Yes, I understand you situation. I'd hate to be in it. Losing a phone, then gatteing a second rate version of it. But you'll have to think of it in the eyes of the insurer. As unfortunate as it may be, but it's not at the price at which you bought it for, it's the price that it's at now. That's business. I mean, if you bought a car 10 years ago, and it was worth $20,000, and it was stolen this year, you wouldn't get a $20,000 car from the insurer, you'd receive the equivalent of what it's worth now.
But as I say, I do feel for you.

I do feel you too. But I think you need to ask for W800 again. It is not fair to someone in situation like yours to give a cheaper and worse phone in case he's lost his previous phone better than the other one. Go ask for the phone. It is not fair to do like that. |
