Been wanting to upgrade my K750 to a K800 for a while now, but I'm concerned that lens cover is going to snap/break easy when slipping the phone in and out of jeans pockets - comments please.

i just noticed today (I MAY BE MISTAKING) that the lense cover is actualy very sturdy because ...

if you fold it opened and look at it from above you can see that it is made up from 3 parts a lower part that keeps it from coming of ... a middle part (the midle part is the phone casing its self) that it slides on and aupper part that keeps it from going inside

here's a ruff drawing

i may be mistaking so please other k800 users check and reply

that won't do it any harm but it will get a bundle of scratches ... i'm so sad that i have 3 scratches on the camera protector (i know i will get more) and i took very good care of it ... don't know what to say

I don't know about you guys, but i found mi K800's camera cover to be extremely sturdy and pretty scratch resistant. So far i only have one scratch on the lens cover and that's from those stupid HK plastic protectors =_= so yeah. I am extremely happy with this lens cover but i sometimes find that it opens while inside my pocket, anyone else have this problem? or is it just me?

Yep very sturdy for me. Also because it is horizontal, it opens on its own in my pocket far less than my K750i did.

This brings me to the question on how most k800 users rest your phone on a table surface... Do you place it down on a table with the display facing up(lens cover touching the table surface) or display facing down on the table?

I rest my phone with the LCD display facing down.

I put the lens cover facing down, as i have heard that it doesn't get scratched easily by table surfaces, i would mind placing it down with the display on the table either as i have gotten those hard plastic display protectors that protect it from scratches etc.

Yeh so do i, and i can see the left side of the lense is more scratched than the right because its where the table meets the lense when i place it with lense down.

Well actually i just realized that i don't really put it on the table that often, i just usually leave it in my pockets or wen i do put it down it's ontop of something that wouldn't scratch the cover such as newspaper, magazines, ontop of my bed, sofa, etc. so i don't have scratches on my lens cover as a result of putting it down on the table.

Mine is full of scratches and I don't care much. When the scratches are maximum, it shows that my K800 needs a replacement. K900 maybe with 5 MP and CCD sensor..it's a matter of time..

aremaboy, wish I had you check book!

for someone who's on a budget we tend to be a little more careful with our precious possessions, almost to the point where we'd like to make it last forever -- we never know when the other half will ever again let us buy the next toy

i always place mine camera lens facing down on top of my pack of cigarettes. eliminates the risk of scratches from hard surfaces and especially from wet spots on the table because of its elevated position
