Hi
I have a w900i & am just wondering what the difference is between sim & sim free (besides the obvious!) Mine is sim. How do you get sim free? Can a sim be changed to sim free etc....
I've been searching the net but not getting any answers on them.
Thanx

sim free is i think unlocked, meaning it can be used by any service. |

Sim free means it is supplied without a sim. That is how I have always understood it. Vodafone have offered me a sim free handset before that was locked.

Sim free doesn't necessarily mean it isn't locked & sim is locked. I have a sim one & it's unlocked.
I know it's basically 'sim free', that's what it says. I was just hunting around for more info on it. I don't seem to be getting anywhere or finding out anything, like are they converted to sim free on request, do they sim & sim free's seperate & you have to order which you want only. IS there any noticable difference between sim & sim free...etc...
Thanks for trying anyway.

You can buy a phone sim free - generally phones sold "sim-free" are unlocked and unbradned, and you need to supply your own sim card.
