I bought a W810i with irritatable hissing.
Are all W810i's infected with this hissing during quite tracks?
Are all walkmanphones infected? Or are the expensive walkmanphones better?

I used k750, d750, w800, w810 still dont get, what these kind of threads mean with hissing noise. Never had any problem with sound quality, except it was a crap record.

And when you play a song with your headphone on, and you stop it, do you hear a hiss?

Think it is W800 and W810 which have "the hiss". I had it to on my W800 but fixed it with FAR...

the hiss is from the amp every audio system hiss's whether u hear it or not its the static resistance down the PCB's and wires speakers work on ohms ohms are resistance hence the hiss its un avoidable try it on ur pc put ur speakers on full and the PC amp full (0db) and listen... a hiss (im not liable to damage to audio systems) you get hiss on ur walkmans, ur hifis, ur tv's, ur game boys anything with an amp

@Toodlesnot

Pls stop complaining about this "MEGA LEGENDARY HISS" already. It deppends on what you want to listen , the hiss or the music . I see you like to listen hiss by stoping music loll .. .. You guyz are like childs when you talk about hiss..

By the way , w810 has some "hiss" but it doesen't affect music . Unless you have an Mp3 recorded bad already. Then you'll see the reall hiss! ! !

So think about!

It's not legendary. I too used to wonder what people were complaining about. But, it really is an issue. People need to understand that it not actually a hiss similar to what all amps suffer from. It is a crackling that occurs when songs are playing at low volumes and when songs fade in and out. It actually breaks down the quality of the MP3. It is disgusting that SE allowed this driver (R1BC) to be published. I know this is a fact because I have provided a driver in another post that resolves the issue - 100%!!!! If you are still sceptical grab a song that starts off with low volume (Queens Bohemian Rapisdy is a good choice). Play it at low vol with both the original R1BC driver and the Original R1L driver. In the pauses at the begining you will here the sound crackle out rather than fade out with the R1BC driver. You will not hear this with the R1L driver. If you can't hear the difference you should get your ears checked out. I feel sorry for those with W810's as there is no fix for them - yet. At least those of us with W800's and K750's can fix it.

BobaFett, slugworth, maryus51, and to all other skeptics out there:

1. SE admitted/confirmed the existence of the hissing noise on the W800i for post-R1L002 FWs, which they say is due to some fix they introduced to prevent digital distortion. Read it on one of the threads I started.

2. Changing some of the phone's sound drivers/files thru FAR manager proved #1 above is true (check the hissing thread on the Softwares subforum). And yes, the cause of the hissing is the firmware. If you replace some of your W800i's sound drivers/files with those of R1L002, then the hissing will be gone.

If you don't hear any hiss or are not bothered by it, then good for you! But not everyone has insensitive ears, you know.

Well, if an iPod (or any brand for that matter) came out tomorrow with audible hissing, I don't think that it would be well received by the public. Why would anyone want to put up with it?

I'm not skeptic.

Toodlesnot said that the hiss is iritating him . I still like the quality even with that hiss ! (I'm using in my comp CREATIVE AUDIGY 2 ZS , soo i know what is good quality ) , of course the phone is not as good as my sound card but it's acceptable.

Soo the conclusion is : That the hiss is not irittating , i will be amazed if SE will introduce in walkman brand Crystal Clear Sound + EAX (wich is a dream for now) .

Again soo , not all people dislike the current w810 capabilietes/performances. That's what i wanned to point. Ciao
