k750 dead, need help fixing |

Hi all. I tried updating the k750 a little while back to the newest firmware. After a successful update, the phone turns back on to the message "incorrect sim, please insert correct sim card". I could do nothing, but the only sim card i had was in the phone. the sim is fine. I tried Davinci to reflash to the previous firmware, but the flash failed (possibly due to battery power exhausted). Now it wont turn on, wont charge, and I cant get SEUS to recognize at all.
Can anyone help? this sucks, a solution would be awesome. |

No warranty. SE says 100 US dollars to fix. Not a problem, however I dont want to pay if I dont have to, plus I would rather get a brand new scratch free phone for double that anyway. |

Wow, been trying for a few weeks at least to get it to even turn on, and now it does. Plugged it in to a USB port on the comp I never used for the phone before. The new USB port as I plugged it in caused the drivers to reinstall and it turned on and charged, now I am charging it before I turn it off to get the sim back in. One problem solved! |

Now it just says: "Insert Correct SIM card"
wtf is that? SIM works in my other phone just fine |

Seems its a fw or hw bug, probably a flash gonna solve it.

All I can say is that it is something. Updating to the latest firmware via SEUS causes my phone to display "Insert Correct SIM card" and this was after several trys. Using the davinci flasher to flash the latest firmware or the one previous to that also causes this error. However flashing to the R1N or R1AA firmware fixes it. SEUS or newer firmware will break it again
I wish I could have one of the newer firmwares but for some reason I cant.
So the question is why can't my K750i in the US using Tmobile work with the two newest firmwares?
Using CID 36 Red
CDA: Generic UK IE
Latest firmware that works: R1AA008
I am guessing because t mobile doesnt support past R1AA008, actually after reading some things in the forum, I am almost certain. So it wont work huh? |

Sounds like it's locking the phone to a certain network when the firmware's updated for some reason, try pressing >*<<*<* (where < and > are moving the joystick in those directions) to get to the service menu. Go to 'Service info', then 'SIM Lock'. You should see a list saying things like 'Network', 'Network Subset', etc. and some padlocks next to them. Look carefully at the padlocks, are they all showing they're open and unlocked?

@sammy When i check the locks, all show locked with 0 attempts left
For some reason Tmob will not support advanced firmware so I am stuck in the 008 world...
And I havent tried different sims, but I dont know if cingular has the same problem as Tmob with the later firmwares. I think I would have to use 02, Orange, Vodaphone SIMs, however this is not possible as I am in the states.
But at least the phone works now, I just cant update it. Wish Tmob would support later firmwares....
