My K750i started to exhibit a fault about 2 weeks ago. It started behaving as though the '3' key was being pressed at random intervals. This meant that when on the phone the person at the other end heard beeps each time it happened, and when not in a conversation the effects of pressing '3' appeared on the screen. Furthermore, at times, the real '3' key did nothing when pressed.
Obviously I tried things like switching the phone off and removing the battery.
Well, I thought it must be a fault with the keypad, except that if I managed to get into the service menu (which is difficult if '3' keeps interrupting the sequence of key presses) it showed the '3' key working fine.
Then last week I took my phone abroad (i.e. roaming), and it was fine both abroad and since coming back to the UK.
That set me wondering. The problem first appeared at about the time that Carphone Warehouse vodafone accounts were swtiched to genuine Vodafone billing.
It doesn't really make sense to me that such a switch could trigger a problem like this in a phone, and yet it seems rather a coincidence that it started when the account was switched, and seems (fingers crossed) to have been cured by roaming to another network.
Any thoughts from any techie experts reading this forum, or any similar experiences?
Paul
