I have a w810 with a 512mb memory stick, but the soft of the phone only shows 400mb of used space and 46mb of available space on the memory stick...that is 446mb...not 512! Is this normal? how many do you count on your memorys sticks? Thanks in advance!

Mine says something similar with an empty mem stick inserted. I think some of it is taken up by directory structure, formatting data, those kinds of things - though I'm surprised that takes up so much space!

the 512 is human MB not compuer MB this is done by bits to bytes, byites to kilobites, KB to MB etc etc

this means that a human sees 1000kb of memory to be actuly 1mb when its not 1024kb is 1mb

it goes on and on do a little google research and you'll see

8bits - 1 B
1024 B - 1 KB
1024KB - 1MB
1024MB - 1GB
S500i 4GB M2
