So I got a chance to compare a 60GB iPOD with my W800i, and here are my views.
With the supplied earphones, the sound quality on the iPOD simply sucks, period. The bass element is very poor, do whatever you can with the eq. and the sound will remain poor. I thought it was the poor earphones that was the problem, so i plugin my W800 ones, and it was the same, the bass was still very poor and i wasnt enjoying listening to music one bit!
I pluged in the iPOD earphones in my W800 and the sound was amazing, very clear and very good bass.
All in all, i was thinking of getting an iPOD, but now i know its just an overpriced piece of junk.

I have both an Ipod 40GB and W800 with 2GB MS Duo

It all comes down to how you intend to use each item.

I mainly use my Ipod in my car and at home, I find it useful as I can store ALL my music on it, I have not had problems with the sound quality at all, the EQ is more responsive when plugged into some (good) speakers.

With regards to my phone, I always have it on my persons so when I'm out and about I just plug in my headphones, but I can only listen up to a limited about of tracks, oh and radio

I'm unsure of whether the W800i supports the new 4GB memory sitck, but lets say it does, they cost around say £130, so for the W800 to be on par with my ipod I would have to spend (130x10) £1300 for it to have the same 40GB capacity of the Ipod, not to mention having ten memory cards lying around.

Maybe the Ipod is not AS expensive as it seems, Oh, and you can play videos on it too, I know you can on the W800i too, but still.
