If I already have the firmware image and an unlocked phone do I still need credits to use the upgraders/unlockers from the various sites like gsmunlock unlocKing, etc?

Thanks,
adept1

adept1...That is a valid question...however, I have the same exact situation as you. I checked my phone unlock status and it says everything is unlocked...but when I launch ericsson client it won't do anything but want a username and password, and you get that by going to those sites you mentioned and "buying" credits. Then they'll give you a username and password. I gave up after it asked for the info cause I don't really know if I'm going to be successful or not. What I mean is, I don't even know if the computer is talking to the phone or not..I get no response when I launch the program and select read sw or read GDFS..nothing, I figure at least it has to let me read that info since I'm not trying to change anything yet.

Let me know if you were successful and which version of the firmware you have..I have R5C...I heard that there was an R5D out already but have yet to find it. Could someone who is reading this post and has the lastest firmware pls. pls. pls. post it? Thanks all

I'm trying to buy some credits so I will let you know what happens... I'm currently running R2B025 on an upgraded T68mc and look to upgrade to the latest version that supports English and Chinese.
