Lots of posts on this - check out Massuer's in the official K800i thread - I Find that the easiest way is to hold the phone facing up-side down with the base away from you. Hold the phone in two hands (like praying) and push the cover away with both thumbs - i dont think you will break it

yeah..
and put your thumbs nearest the camera slider.
and just push it away from you.
it should open pretty easily.

right, I just noticed it could be a little hard if you don't do it the right way. but this is good, becuase the cover stays tight and doesn't move at all when closed.

strange as when i push down on the erazer to grip the cover just below the lens cover it opens easily, if you do get it off you could sand a small part of the plastic tab off so it wont be tight

Yes.. I spent hours on it before. I didn't want to crack anything by accident.. so was trying to be careful. But it just wouldn't open. I got pretty sore thumbs from all that pushing

However, I have discovered, that if you go and wash your hands, and then dry them off... it makes it easier... sometimes all the oils and sweat that has built up over the course of the day make it hard for your thumbs to get a grip.
