Why is a flight mode in k600, if i cant use it without sim in the fone?

Even P-series doesn't allow no-SIM operation; Nokia 6630 was the first phone to allow 'offline' operation, to this day only S60 Nokias retain it(that I've seen, anyway)....

most windows mobiles also work without a simcard in it

thx. its really funny then, why does the fone ask it, i mean, it cannot realise that no sim is inserted?
