Ericsson goes to war with Samsung |

Ericsson is suing Samsung over use of essential GSM, GPRS and EDGE patents.
Ericsson has filed its complaint against Samsung, which holds third place in the world handset market against Sony Ericsson's fifth or sixth, in US district court in Texas, alleging the infringement of 11 patents in CDMA, W-CDMA and GSM/EDGE, including some related to power management.
The new filing comes in the wake of a lawsuit filed in February claiming that Samsung had failed to renew its patent license agreement with Ericsson and so no longer had the right to use technology covered by Ericsson patents in GSM/GPRS/EDGE. The license expired on December 31 last year and extensive negotiations have failed to produce a renewed agreement, according to Ericsson. The original deal was signed in 2002.
Ericsson claimed the objective of the lawsuit was not to secure damages, but to gain a court order banning Samsung from making use of proprietary, unlicensed technology in its mobile devices.
"It's more a matter to make them stop using our patents if they're not going to license them at a reasonable price."
However, the filing does also ask for punitive damages as well as payments to cover lost revenues.

i hope /// wins bigtime, they should even force samsung to stop its production for several weeks
With Ericsson and Nokia gone: we must keep their spirits alive and buy JOLLA or YOTA |

The first thread has a mistake in it, Sony Ericsson has been in fourth place for around a month, pushing LG down one spot. Hopefully SE will continue to rise up til it reaches number 1!
I guess SE is already working on it, seeing how it's trying to slow down Samsung's production by all means necassary. HaHaHa, Sony and all its subsidiaries are pretty well known to try every trick in the book to bring down its opponents, even taking legal action over matters that could have been easily settled off court. Not that I'm complaining of course. XD Love their stuff |

I am beginning to like Samsung though . . . specially the D900 which dons a 3 MP camera . . . better than the K800's . . . in my OPINION !

Megapixel count in a cameraphone does'nt make the phone any better,Samsung has no pedigree in mobile telecoms compared to as you can see they are stealing Ericsson's ideas and trying to make themselves a respectable brand.
I would never touch a Samsung, never have and never will...They should stick to making microwaves and fridge/freezers.

Yes its your opinion of course....but remember this is a site and we really don't see kindly to disloyal members.
whats so good about samsungs anyway?...Is it me,because i don't get it?
Anyway, the other day i was out buying some clothes and the nice looking female assistant in the shop noticed my K800 and asked me if it was any good, and of course that got me started, anyway to cut a long story short she said she really wanted to get the D900 and i basically had to explain to her how good was compared to samsung,so in the end i convinced her to go for the K800 and she was very thankfull and agreed.

@axxxr - Please have the saleslady's email addy handed to me and I'll advise her to have that K800 returned if it is still covered by the 'return-item-policy' . . . and get the D900 instead ! Why did you not convince her to get the N73 instead The way I see it, it's the BEST 3 MP camfone around at present . . . (your link posted seen at GSM Arena) . . .

Like i said mate its not all about Megapixels..the N73 may have the best picture quality but the very poor design lets it down...and the D900 is just poor on both counts.. K800 stands out for design and image quality is quite respectable although not the best..so overall the K800 wins.
