Randulf Joined: Oct 24, 2005 Posts: 8 PM	Posted: 2006-08-10 00:21 I was out sailing last week and accidetaly had the phone in the pocket of my lifewest. It was pretty hard weather and the waves sprayed over deck and of course over me. When I discovered that I had had the phone in myck pocket i immedeately removed the battery and let it dry for a day (the phone didt really feel wet). First time I tried it after the phone seamed ok memorystick was readable and so on. But later that day it started to behave odd. If I start the phone without memorystick in it it works ok, the lights for the calls and menu buttons are on but are quite weak. If i insert the memorystick the phone just starts flashing with a white light on the screen and the same goes for if I try to start it with memorystick in. I upgraded the firmware today but no change. Anyone has any ideas on what to do? Is there any diagnostics software that I can run and se if something is broken in my phone? My last option is to put it in destilled water and se if there is some salt or something making a short circuit.

I suspect there's a bit of moisture damage to the memory card reader, may not be fixable unfortunately, and the contacts for the reader are under the metal housing for the mem stick so hard to get at to try to clean "All it takes for evil to flourish is for good men to do nothing" - Edmund Burke
