Wirefly an online mobile phone comparison shop released a list of the top 5 selling music phones in the United States.

It is hard to say how representative those numbers are. It is strange to see the ROKR on the number two spot. And where are the phones? Wirefly clams 10,000's of consumers using their service each month. So there is a certain value in the list below.

According to Wirefly the 5 most popular music phones are:

Sony Ericsson Z520a/z525a (Video Phone)
Motorola ROKR iTunes Phone
Samsung T809 and Samsung D807 (for T-Mobile and Cingular, respectively)
Samsung MM-A900 (Multimedia Phone)
Cingular 2125 and T-Mobile MDA

I guess we have to wait some time here as models arrives quite late in the US.

Well Motorola is apparently pretty huge in the US at the moment, so seeing the ROKR up there isn't really that suprising, although I thought the ROKR was a flop. I wouldn't think that SE has much of a name but what really puzzles me is why the Z520 is up there. It doesn't have much memory (16MB), no radio, and poor video. How is it that it's the most popular music phone? This list is pretty bad.
