not at all. if you are going to have something like that sitting on your desk it might as well be as useful as possible.

we've been able to get mousepads with calculators and clocks for ages now

I always have my memory cards in the phone or in the reader itself. So i just check them in the devices themselves...Four slots, four different memory cards...But yes, should be useful for folks with lots of memory cards @ home!
