With Sony just announceing the new Mylo is it trying to sneak its way back into its independent phone business through the back door with a wi-fi handset?

I must say that the design is really appealing and it seems that it also caters for mp3 lovers too.

In short, no. Sony have invested heavily in SE and not just in terms of money, SE is using Sony brand names. It isn't a mobile phone, which is SE's area, so this is in keeping with Sony and Ericsson having their own interests outside of SE.

Not sure what OS it uses but if you go to the fantastic interactive Mylo site it will answer most of your questions: www.sony.com/mylo

@axxxr
It isn't a mobile phone so I doubt anyone will get a GSM version. I suppose one could always import one; it uses Wi-Fi and since Wi-Fi is an international standard the same the world over it should work fine in Britain.
I would agree with you regarding the design, it is rather nice. It has a nice 'gadgety' look to it.

I know its not a mobile phone...i was just hopeing that Sony would release this with GSM capabilities i.e: a phone version of the same thing...after all it is a skype/wi-fi phone so it would'nt be difficult to do.

The gadget world is based on dreams and ideas...without those we would have no innovation no developement.
