With reference to the above, a friend and I are having a disagreement that this is made of plastic (my opinion) or aluminium (his opinion).
Who is right?

plastic...try melting it
see that side of the part which faces the lens, if its metal the shear should be of teh same angle all around, its hard to cut metal using stamping at that angle, its possible though filing it, but with all the cost cutting, aluminum is not the way to go.
and also the steps...you can do that with aluminum but it will be expensive too...

another thing, my lense cover has chipped off paint already and the dirty white plasics a bit exposed now...

im fairly sure that the part that says 2 mpx autofocus is amde of metal, or at least plated with metal. it is sharp enough on the indented writing to scratch my fingernail.. |

hey guys! i just had my k750i housing replaced. i disassembled the lens cover and found out that it's PLACTIC but the cover that says"2.0 megapixel - autofocus " is a thin plate of aluminum glued to the lens cover. see the picture.
