Help My K750 has had a dodgy screen for a while now, it kept going very very bright, almost white and then flicking back to normal all the time. Yesterday I looked at the phone and it's gone totally white and won't shift. The phone does still work, I've called myself and it rings, but of course I can't see anything!

I'm due a replacement and I'm getting a N93 at the end of the month but until then I a) need a phone! and b) need to get my numbers out.

Anyone got any suggestions other than going to a phone shop to fix it (too expensive for a phone at the end of it's life). Replacing screen myself? Source for new screens?

Cheers All

The last episode of this I heard on the K750 was when a colleague of mine sat on his when it was in his back pocket.

He could still receive calls but the screen was totally white.

As it turned out, a connector from the PCB to the screen had been partially pulled. Remove the front housing and it is at the bottom left hand corner of the screen.

That is a possibility.

Do a good search using k750i wsod , there is pictures of this and how to repair it.

You know I thought I was being all clever and original by saying 'white screen of death' Seems I was beaten to it by quite a way!!

Cheers both of you, I shall try pulling this thing apart as soon as I track down a torex screwdriver somewhere in Soho.

Cheers

This isn't similar to the WSOD problem people are having from recent SE phones which are software-related issues.

Ah fantastic thanks.

I think it justproves what I fear however, and that is that by opening it I have fixed ther grounding issue but broken the screen

Now I have nothing on screen, no light no nothing , regardless of what other parts are or aren't plugged in :'( May have to swallow my pride and nip to a phone shop. bugger.

Oh!! I so didn't read your message properly - it's not under warranty, have had the phone about 14 months now+ it was 2nd hand off ebay when I got it.

Voda say drop it off in a store and it's £40 min to fix :'(
