I had a couple of T-mobile payg sims, one of which I put credit on as the £1 a day unlimited wap is a good deal.

Anyway, I was browsing away, and all of a sudden a few minutes later, I could not connect - I was getting the "Communication failure" message.

So I put the other sim in which had a bit of credit on it and it worked fine, but the first sim with all the credit on wasn't working.

So I phoned T-mobile help and support and after speaking to 4 different people for 90 mins they put me through to their Second Line or so called Technical Support where I spoke to a woman called Jackie.

My god, what a bitch!!

From the minute she answered the phone, she spoke in the most condescending manner and from the very outset was only interested in convincing me - and herself - that it was a problem with the handset, even though I told her the previous sim worked fine.

She butted in, wouldn't let me finish, started raising her voice, didn't have the manual and tried to direct me to a portion of the settings menu that wasn't there!! Then she used the old line "believe me I know my job, I ve been doing it for years".

When I tried to connect to wap the white screen appeared with the hour-glass and she was trying to convince me that it was the WSOD!!

Then, she got upset, and just would not accept the fact that the sim might be faulty. If it was I would have been happy for them to transfer the credit onto the other sim. But no - she wouldn't accept it.

I was calm right throughout the conversation but afterwards I really wanted to hit someone, I was that angry.

Anyway, after this debacle, I topped up and put in my old Orange SIM and its working fine!

So much for customer service!! She should never be allowed to deal with customers again. Grrrrr!!

Just file a complaint...
Tell how rude she was and everything. I'm sure she will be noticed. [addsig]

I have worked in Technical Support roles before and Rule No 1 when attempting to fix a customer's problem is to LISTEN.

How can you possibly sort out a problem when you won't LISTEN to what the symptoms are!!!!

I'd have loved to have taped her mouth shut, for ever!

The fact that the handset worked fine with other sim cards should have told her the problem was with this particular sim.

Simple, basic common sense!!!

I might make a complaint. To stop other people going through the same horrible experience I did.
