ORANGE will be offering handsets that boast an alarm feature called Synchronica 'Scream',It apparently sounds like a human screaming when triggered.

The new facility will form part of Orange's efforts to combat handset theft. Initially it will be offered to business users for under £10 per month. Part of Synchronica Mobile Manager offering, it will also enable Orange to wipe users' data off stolen phones.

maybe so but i like that fact that the system also wipes the owners data off stolen phones...which in my mind is more important than the actual phone itself. [addsig]

data will be most likely be contacts/files....don't see how they could possibly fry the circuits over the air? ....suppose it can be done but manufacturers have to install the extra bits needed to trigger the burn once activated...can't be done with current phones though. [addsig]

I like this idea. Some guy trys selling on your phone on the street and then turns it on and it starts screaming and wont shut up, thats awsome. I also like the idea of wiping data, lost my K750i with my card and phone full of pictures and stuff so was quite upsetting i guess.

I have a feeling this will be in full swing within the next 3 years or so with all companies implimenting similar ideas.
This whole phenomena is a mystery, wrapped in an enigma, wrapped in a government agenda.

They could also fit small GPS tracking devices in phones so if stolen can be activated and traced. [addsig]
