Some questions.regarding K800/K790 |

1. Nokia's 3mp mobile has a Carl Zeiss lens...does K800 have one too? If not then at what disadvantage is K800 at against Nokia N**?
2. Is the brightness and LCD quality of W900 same as that of K750? In other words do they have essentially the same screens wid diff sizes? And how better is the K800 screen compared to W900?
3. Since K800 only supports video recording at 176 *144 which is a huge disadvantage...but does this really matter? I mean W900 has 30 fps recording but is tht recording of good quality or just average? and can the video resolution of K800 be increased if SE releases a firmware which can do that? is tht technically possible?
4. The K800 comes with a M2 64 mb card....but iv read at some places that the K790 does not come wid a memory card...Also is there any way that we can use our pro duo cards in the new mobile thru some adapter or something?
5. The diff bw K800 and K790 is that of 3G and Edge...i live in Pakistan and presently the cell phone operators in my country have capabilities to provide both services (at present no cell phone operator offers either) so which shall i buy? I ask that because both are available here and there is a noticeable price difference bw them...K790 is cheaper!
6. How is the mp3 player in K800/K790? is it better than that of K750 or the same? Can it be matched to a Walkman mobile in terms of its quality and loudspeaker?
7. Is the price of M2 memory card same or higher than that of Ms pro duo of equal capacity?
8. Does the K800 have a good media player? coz the K750 didnt have one... and can we play videos full screen? wat about the videos we record? can we play them magnified to full screen?
9. Is the Zoom of K800 any good? The K750 zoom was no good as even if u zoomed a little the pics would come wid a lot of noise? Does K800 pics generally have noise? what about the ones taken at night with flash?
10. How are the headphones available wid K800? the ones those come wid Walkman mobiles are always better...the ones supplid wid K750 were pathetic...so is tht the case wid k800 too?
11. In all am i better of buying a W900 or K800 or K790?
12. Lastly the downloads for K750 were easily available everywhere....however i couldnt find games etc for K800 at all? Does the K800 have 3D games or just plain old java games ? thnx |

1) No, but "Carl Zeiss" really means nothing, it's just a branding gimmick. Nokias "Carl Zeiss" lenses are made by Konica-Minolita IIRC.
4) Bundled memory cards with K790 and K800 depends entirely on where you got it. My K800 didn't come with a memory card. I believe only Hong Kong markets include a memory card in the box for sim-free handsets.
5) The only difference is literally 3G vs EDGE. 3G gives voice calls and higher data rates. EDGE generally gives better high-speed data coverage. If you don't see yourself making video calls, get the cheaper of the two.
6) The MP3 player is much better than the k750, it's more like the walkman players. I find the sound quality slightly worse, but I haven't compared them side-by-side yet.
7) Higher.
 Yes videos can be played full screen, stretched and scaled.
9) It's still just digital zoom which is utterly worthless
10) It's the same as the K750 headphones. You can always buy the walkman headphones separate and use those (it's what I do)
11) The only pro to the w900 is the video recording quality - the k800 is better in every single other aspect.
12) The K800 can play all K750 games, but they won't always run full-screen. K800-specific games aren't very widespread yet, since the phone is so new. |

hey regarding the k790/800
in the call list..it aint possible to see the time duration of that particular entry ..the only duration u can see is the last call duration which is there obviously..but isnt it unusual for the call duration of that particular call in the call history to not be shown ..? or am i missing something??

well... none of my phones have ever really showed the call duration of each call in the list. all they show is the time of the call, not the duration.
doesn't bother me though.

hmm ok..i shifted from an XDA IIs..n earlier had a p900..so been a while since ive used a phone without this duration thing
p.s. nice blog..lov showing off the picture clarity of this phone! |

3. W900 has a much better video rec because of 30fps at a resolution of 240x320... Increase in K800's video resolution is technically possible but I dont see any chances that SE would do it...
4. As far as I know K790 does comes with 64MB card... Pro duo cards cannot be used with K790/K800...
7. The price is some what same, only a little higher as they are new and not easily available...
8. K750 also had a media player but the K800 has a better one...
9. Zoom is no good... Pics at night are the best in any mobile phone...

This is the biggest and the only main drawback in SE non-symbian phones that I have experienced... |
