Not happy with the k800i media player! |

After using my w800i for a year and now the k800i, the media player in the k800i is disgusting lol. I dont like the fact i cant toggle though the music with out the current song changing. Is there anyway i can use a w800i player like there was in the beta firmware? Another thing i was thinking is getting everyone on this forum to email se to develop a new firmware with the old media player, fair enough its not a walkman, just remove the walkman logo and there you go. I feel this is a downgrade. |

| The new walkman series will have the new walkman player so i think they should put the old one in the k800i |

I didn´t know that... u cant browse through your tracks without changing the current track? So whats the point of browsing then if u r going to stop the music u r listening to? They should´ve sticked with the old k750´s interface for music, at least u´d know what u r getting. People say k800´s interface is just like walkman´s but clearly its not. I was thinking about getting a k800 but now... i often use my mob as a music player... and this is really a step down..
C´mon , make a phone with 3.2mpx and qvga screen. |

yeah and on mine, some titles and stuff are cut off... and the ones that aren't, they don't scroll... so it's kinda disappointing.
maybe in a new firmware they'll fix all of that?
or are any of you guys having this also?

I prefer the K800 music player a ton - the menus load instantly (the w800 was incredibly slow), it builds the menus based on ID3 tags (instead of you having to create a folder structure), the menus have an "All" option - that was what really made the iPod 500x better than the w800, M4A tags actually work, fast-forward is accellerating so it doesn't take years to fast-forward in a long file, the menu is nicer, and it looks nicer |

I use the k800 for an mp3 and i don't mind. I must admit I've never used the walkman series but it can't be too good or you wouldn't buy the W's. |

kalleboo,
w800´s menu is not slow... its actually pretty fast. I forget sometimes that w800 is phone seeing how fast it manages songs. When it comes to organizing tracks by id3 tags, if u r using disc2phone the software will put the songs in the right artist and album according to the tags u already have on your phone and the info ´inside´ the mp3. And it works just fine. Is that what u mean?
What do u mean by ´all´ option?
If m4a tags worked that well on k800 they wouldnt be cut off sometimes like Phantom said.
Honestly, i´m really disappointed with this all new design by that forces me to choose between music and camera... one of the reasons i bought w800 was because i wanted to have both!!
Well, im still hoping for the day when will release a walkman/cybershot smartphone... talk about crushing the competition.

Hopefully your problems can be fixed in the next firmware upgrade. But you also have to consider what the point of a series would be if the K800 was basically a fully capable media player itself, i.e. the series only have a few additional features in the media player which don't matter much to the overall music phone. They have to do something to make each 'side' have some pros and cons. I mean v2 has album art, album search and Track ID extra. So what if those are the only extras.

That's true, but the K800i is one generation newer so you'd normally expect it to be able to play more stuff. Also I seriously doubt SE can make a phone that combines the W K and P series as the technology right now is limited. If they do so, then the phone would probably be huge and asthetically unpleasing. Hopefully their technology gets better and in the coming years are able to achieve something like this, but let's face facts, it ain't happening soon. |
