Are there any plans to release newer T65 software and what is the latest version?

some of the corrections in R5A:

- fixes in the WAP module
- improvements on T9
- corrections when reading SIM card so all 32K SIM cards are accepted

an update to R5A is not guaranteed to give you a good working phone. There are many bugs left. After each software update on T65 it's recommended (if the servicepoint hasn't done it) to do a master reset on the phone, this will at least give you some time with a good working phone, cause the errors with the phone shutting itself off will probably come back, then you can try to do a master reset again.

I also experienced that problem, i was using the r5... fw then. But then the phone suddenly went dead so i had it replaced w/ a new unit, the new units fw is R3B0007. With that fw, problem gone.

the numbers underneath is the modelnumber of the software since there is ~10 different language version for each phone they must have numbers to identify the language versions..

nothing wrong with the backlight... it's programmed to switch of if the phone is not used, this also includes when the phone establish a GPRS connection and loads wap pages

I upgrade my firmware ftom R3A to R5A, and I still have a problem. When I talk I hear a noise. What is the problem? Why new firmware don't solve it?

the noise is nothing you get rid of that easy... it depends on the design of the phone... there are two ways in for the sound to the microphone, one at the bottom besides the systemconnector, the other on the back of the phone next one of the screws... this combination causes noise/echoes during calls...
