hi
I have found that since I upgraded my sim card on o2 a year ago, that I have not been able to use my phone as a dial up modem for my laptop or my pda. I spent alot of time calling o2, my phone supplier etc. I would link and the bluetooth would be connected but when I dialed up the phone would ring and disconect ring and disconect and would get a message on the pda saying no modem at the number called..I upgraded to the K800i and the same message was coming back. I called my sim provider on several occasions who assured me I had everything I could need, including being data enabled. I called on sunday for the last time and discussed with them again. It seems that modern day sim cards dont come with wap gsm on them any more. the mobile phone companies think that we dont need it so they dont come with it set up. after a call to them asking for the old fashioned wap service to be activated, all of a sudden my pda and my laptop dials the internet...and I stay connected. I hope that helps. Seems it dosnt matter what phone you have its the sim. I put it down to having 3g on the new card that I got a year ago |
