hpm70 = a damage to your hearing ! |

i was listening to music on my w800i with hpm70 , and after about 15 mins my ear's started stinging inside so i took them out and waited about 5 hourse then plugged them in again on aroud 40% wlume and could bareley hear anything , before i coudl hear the music at 40% volume loud and clear , my eardrum's will probably heal overnight , but i think over time if i kept listening with my hpm70 earphone's , my ears might one day not heal , and later in life become partially deaf ! |

it's ok if you listen maybe once every 3 days , but if i listen everyday for exactly 20minutes on the "normal" equalizer setting at 40% to 60% , or 4 bars or 6 bars volume it starts hurting , i would suggest to people to only use them once every 3 days for 30 mins at about 50% if you need to , but never listen to them all the time , i can noticce the damage its done , but its already healing and i can hear better already but after time i can see this really damaging your hearing |

get them they are good sound qaulity but just dont use the as much as they are closer to the eardrum than most headphones , and have "closed" sound so no where for the sound to escape , just use them every 3 days for a short time at low volume and you should be fine |

I don't think the HPM-70 has some magic power that damage ur ears, I have no problems at all and i listen at least 2 hours every day.
All professional earbuds (IE shure's) have an in-ear design, they all are closed from the outside and I never heard of the problem u got...

how old are you , if you are under 40 yrs if you lower the volume to 40% now you will bearley hear it beacuse of you listening at it too high which vibrate's the eardrum too much and damages it , for your own health i sujest lowering the volume |

I agree with Mart89.
I use Ultimate Ears and Etymotic's which are professional in ear monitors (or headphones). They shut out about 98% of all external noise and they do not damage your ears and I use them every day. Have them in my ears right now. They key is common sense with usage.
Common sense + reasonable volume levels = non hearing damage.
This is just like the iPod suit. If it is too loud then turn it down.

I listen to it almost 4 hours everyday at 4 bars. If you need more than 4bars, then there is something else wrong with your ears. |
