Hi,

I live in Portland OR and have t68i using ATT.

Most of the time I use the phone, I get an "echo" of my voice for the first minute I use it.

Basically, I call someone and I can hear a repeat of everything I say as soon as I say it. It sounds like someone is interrupting me but listening to it I realize it's my own voice. Very distracting. I'm not using the headset or anything, just speaking directly to the phone. The strength signal is 3-4 bars usually from where I'm calling.

Anyone else have a similiar problem with your t68i through ATT? Is there a special setting I need to adjust or is it a bad phone? I've had the phone for 1 week. I like it, but cannot live with this echoing.

If I exchange it for a new one, should I keep the sim card or exchange everything? I don't want to void the mail in rebates. thanks for help. steve

This has happend to me with all my phones when the signal strength is low/bad (network problem, not phone)... maybe your phone has something in the antenna part that is loose...
youy should go to a service point and ask them...
good luck....

Its not the phone its the service. I have had this problem of the last few years since I have been with TM gsm service. It happens on and off sometimes when signal is weak or when I am using a particular cell tower. I am willing to bet this happens alot when you use the phone in the same place correct? It is also possible that being that att gsm service is pretty new you may experience this more with them as opposed to TM's which has a more extensive system and more experience. I would call AT&T and tell them about it, they most likely will have other complaints like yours. GL.

yeap me too, i use T-mobile in MA and it gives all kinds of echoes and sometimes even static, but mostly it happens when i am in a poor RF spot... not like in a particular tower. Happend to more than one phoen. why don't you drive somewhere different where the signal is strong and try it again see if it happens. i don't think its the phone.
P.S. when i go back to russia, gsm coverage is outstanding and this kind of thing never happens to my 68i there.
