The article is in norwegian but the essence is that a brand new W810 exploded when they were trying to put the simcard in after charging it overnight |

I'm not supposed to say this but I'm going to say it any way. That 14 year-old featured in the story looks damn hot...pity she's underage and good thing I'm nowhere near Norway. Her mother though could do with a makeover, she looks like she's addicted to meth.

The Nokia's that were exploding were due to cheap or fake batteries not Nokia original batteries.

It could've been some fake battery burning up. Or just a faulty battery... mmhmm...

a short translation from the swedish newspaper Aftonbladet
The SonyEricsson W810 was just bought from a online shop. "We got it yesterday and connected the charger to charge it. Today we disconnected it from the charger. I put it on the kitchen sink in order to try to open it so I could put in the SIM card, then it exploded", said Agnethe Amdahl. There was quite alot of smoke and it was a mark on the kitchen sink.
She will demand a new phone from the online shop and also contact SonyEricsson. But she was thankful she didn't hold the phone, the heat and explosion has caused some bubbles on the kitchen sink.
Per Alksten, product manager on Sony Ericsson have never heard of anything such this. "A phone should not be able to explode. I can't see any natural explanation", he says to Aftonbladet.se. But he advise Agnethe to contact SonyEricsson so they can look into what have happened
