you can set your phone to check for emails at set intervals,from 5mins to every 12 hours.go to settings,hilite account name then click more,edit account,scroll to advanced settings,edit and scroll to check interval |

Yes, but how much data is required to check the emails each time?
I have a contract with VFNZ for my V800. How much data would I use to check emails 60 times per month (12 hour interval) or 720 times per month (1 hour interval)?

@daviep
Thanks for the info, how did you obtain those figures BTW?
Assuming there were no emails downloaded, it would then cost me NZ$ 0.90 per month (12 hour intervals) + the cost of downloading the emails. I guess it depends on how many emails you send and recieve.
At 1 hour intervals, I'd need to select a Mobile Data 3 MB plan at a cost of NZ$ 10.00 per month otherwise costs could rise quickly... and I'm not confident in VFNZ's ability to bill data properly. I've had nasty data bills before.
