Help! I can't use all the functions of my K800i because of my 3 sim card! |

Hi,
I'm on a "3" network contract. When my nokia 6280 broke I was so glad cos it was rubbish and I really wanted the Sony Ericsson K800i.
The insurance company sent me a cheque which I could use at the link store. Only problem is, the Link only do the K800i on the O2 network.
The guy in the shop said O2 don't lock their phones & my 3 sim card would work in it...and it does...brilliant, so I bought the handset.
Only problem is I can't MMS/use the browser/blog photo's. I rang 3 up to ask why. They told me that I couldn't do any of those things becasue it is not a phone supplied by 3. Further more if I keep on using the k800i, their systems will detect that it is not a 3 mobile & will barr my sim card!
I love the phone & can't return it to the store now. Does anyone know if:
a) they were telling the truth about barring my sim card or if the were just trying to scare me.
b) is there anyway that I can still use all these functions that I've mentioned with my 3 sim card?
I hope you can help...this is a great phone & I want to keep it!!!

Are you not tempted to just get an 02 sim card...alternatively have you tried the Get Settings function on the o2 website, which has all the mms setting....although not sure whether these would only work on an o2 sim....just thinking aloud!!! |

Dont listen to word 3 say, they sell the damn phone on new contracts !! go to this link to set up your mobile WAP profile and also your MMS profile http://www.sonyericsson.com/s[....]1_1&zone=ps&lm=ps1_1&pid=10407
the '3' network is now listed on the  site for the configuration settings, whereas it wasnt before

First of all schilbach...i wanted to keep my 3 sim as it's on contract and I have another 10 months left...so didn't want to change to O2.
ryanmachin...you're a star...i just went to the link...put in my details and the web browser set up was sent to my phone straight way and I'm up & running!
