Hi all

just had a new K800i after defecting fron Nokia and am very pleased with it.

When I pair it to my Audi bluetooth car kit all goes well, it reads my sim and phone contacts, missed calls, dialed call etc and display them on my satnav screen. Works great, well for about 10 minutes then the pairing drops and reconnects all the time.

I know its the phone because all my audi kit is the latest firmware versions and they work perfectly with my old Nokia 6230i and my sons K750i

Anybody have any ideas. I know there is no firmware update yet for this phone.

I have also tried using the phone in its SE holder and charger and no difference. Power saving is disabled on bluetooth

appreciate any advice

It's not so much that your phone is faulty but more to do with software and Bluetooth protocalls. A BT carkit generally needs specific software to suit each phone. Whilst your sons K750i works fine, thats no guarantee that your K800i will work the same. You need to get on to Audi and ask if they ACTUALLY support the K800i and if they provide correct software for this phone.

Hope this helps

strange thing is another user on another forum has the same setup as me with the Audi BT and the K800i and he says he has no problems.

So although Audi "dont officially support this Phone" I know it should work

It's very "touch and go" with these kits. I've seen similar problems myself and unfortunately AUDI won't give a proper reason simply because they don't, as you say, officially support this phone!

Cracked it

the problem is when syncing with outlook

If the numbers are under Business, Home or Mobile it all works fine

If any number are under the category "OTHER" thats where it screws up

taken me days of trying but well worth it.

It never dropped once whilst uploading the phone book

the last test now is when I take the car out, but Im confident

it also automatically switches profiles to CAR when the bluetooth pairs

cheers
