After using it for a while a wish SE would update the dude's firmware with the following:

- Add group ringtones or enable updating contact ringtone within sync apps; it looks like at the the moment it's not allowed

- Add message alert volume; useful when using media whose volume is quite different;

- Enable "per profile" ringtone/message alert; some officehome ringtones are useless in outdoor;

- Add Display name in contacts; Normally any PIM has a "display as" field that is eiter given by Lastname+firstname OR company name. When importing data , say from Outlook, either you get "noname" contacts either you have to trick the dude duplicating company name data into lastname (truncation occurs often).

Is there any chance SE will listen us?

[Edit: removed the contact notes request; just discovered that the phone has field named "Info" that can contain notes. And it is managed into MPE]

I think the camera can still be improved with a firmware update... I would like to see less compression and noise cleanup in the pics, especially nite/flash shots.

Oh and of course.... higher res/smoother video capture

I think a visual graphic equaliser for the MP3 will kill it. They should have retained the nite mode. Although the mp3 earphone output is good they should have kept the mega bass function.

I'm very disappointed to hear that this STILL hasn't been fixed. I e-mailed them a few times re. this with my K750i and I thought they would have sorted it by now - it's not exactly difficult! If the first/last name is blank and company isn't then display the company name! I've got a Palm TX and it copes fine with this (I sync my TX with Outlook and then to my K750i).

Does anyone have any inside track to get in touch with SE engineers to try and push some of these wishlist items forward? (Higher res video would be my other request)

Cheers

-Enable radio without earphones; let the user decide if there's enough signal strength.

...................guys, we're listing nice features!

Could any authorative Esato board admin, pack all these requests, once complete, and send them to SE?

There are pluggins that sync with iSync. I use it everyday. The software that came with the phone is crap. Disk2Phone. Are you kidding? There is plenty better of other software that does a better job than D2P.

You need to look around or ask someone. iSync has been up and running for a bit.
*edited on a Mac of course. Mac: There is no substitute*

N82(YES), iPhone 3G, Shure es530, Nikon D300, more stuff. No more SE stuff, why am I still here?

personally i think the macro mode is that great on the K800, my W800 used to let me take really close up shots and it would always focus properly on the object. Whereas the K800 doesnt focus when its too close, i find myself having to go a good 12inches away to capture an image in focus. The W800 used to take a while to focus in macro mode when the shutter button was depressed half way, but the K800 just focuses in almost immediately.

Has anyone else found this?

wait, i am not sure if i'm understanding your post.
are you saying that you like the W800 macro mode more than the K800 macro mode? or the other way around?

bit of a typo in my post above, meant to say the macro mode ISNT that great on the K800. I found the macro mode better on the W800 personally... the K800 focuses in too quickly whereas the W800 takes its time to focus in on the object...which is GOOD!

wishlist lol.. none of these things would probably happen but..

better sms management.. sorting and grouping
music app "on the fly" playlist ability
better video recording like the w900i
different sms tone for contacts
the calender app needs to be fixed.. (when setting start and end dates you should be able to actually see the calander instead of only being able to enter the date)
it's easier to scroll to the date then to input the date
improve macro mode and camera quality

Associate different BT accessories with different profiles (and allow the charger to be it's own profile)...

For BT accessories I can only select "Accessory 11 0" when associating with a profile which means my car kit and bluetooth headset are both "In Car" as far as the phone is concered.

I wish it could take MS Duo's other than the non existant MS Micro M2s
