Hi all,

I am currently with Orange and have been a very satisfied customer of theirs for about 6 years. However, because of the high cost of roaming with Orange and their insistence on customising every bloody phone they produce I am now looking at switching to O2. Can anyone answer a few questions for me?

1) One of my most used sites on Orange's WAP site is their train timetable look-up service and the cinema times. Does O2 have equivalent free to use services?

2) Does O2 still take roaming texts out of your bundle at a rate of 4 to 1?

3) Does O2 use a callback type service for their answerphone rather than just an icon appearing as with Orange?

Many thanks.

Thanks for your prompt reply. I guess the next most important question is:

Are you happy with O2?

no probs - the only way to answer that is yes and no

yes because of their excellent signal everywhere (i've had all networks apart from vodafone and it without doubt the best) and secondly due to the excellent deals they give their customers after being with them for a year or more (basically at the time of upgrade)

no because of their poor customer services, the fact that you have to pay to call customer services and that their systems are never updated with the latest information on how many minutes and texts you have left (for the online account)

1st question , O2 have both the options your after, theres plenty more. you can use streetmap too. take a look round the O2 home page theres loads on there its very useful.

3rd question, when you say callback service do you mean when the voicemail dials you when a message is left? If so then yes they do, you can set it up to call and send a text if you so wish.

Maybe if you have an unlocked phone you could get hold of one of the many free o2 sims out there so you can try the services before you commit? If you want id be happy to send you one for free.

Hi,

1) They do actually provide train times ANd cinema times on O2 Active in the Info/Travel, and Entertainment sections respectively. However, its not free per se, you have to pay data charges, but considering you get 1Mb free per month, and you don't always I get charged, its practically free...

2) Couldn't possibly tell you, cause I don't roam lol :'(

3)You can set voivemail to EITHER call you when you have a message, or for it to text you.

Hope this helps dude

Cheers
