Motorola announces five mobiles, including RIZR and KRZR |

Motorola has announced a follow up to the RAZR series with the new KRZR (crazer). The KRZRs were rumoured to be the Canary. The KRZR is narrower and a tad thicker than the original RAZRs. It uses a new glassy exterior and the KRZR K1 has a 2 megapixel camera, 176x220 262k screen, and supports A2DP.
There is also a CDMA version call the K1m which is 1mm wider, has a 1.3 megapixel camera, a slightly larger screen, lack A2DP and external media controls (with buttons like the Chocolate). It's dimensions are 103x42x16mm compared to the RAZR's 98x53x13.9mm.
KRZR K1
The RIZR (riser) Z3 is the rumoured Capri slider. It houses a 2 megapixel camera, EDGE, a 176x220 262k 1.9 inch screen, and A2DP in a 106x46x16mm body. It is not 3G. Is has a similar rubbery body to the V3x.
Finally the RAZR MAXX and the V3xx are HSDPA 3G phones. The RAZR MAXX has a 2 megapixel camera, QVGA 262k screen, is housed in a glassy black body with Chocolate-like media controls (like on the K1m), glows blue when is being called to and is a full 5mm thinner than the V3x. It is however 5mm longer and is 104x53x15mm.
The V3xx is identical to the V3x, but with a 1.3 megapixel camera instead of a 2 megapixel camera, is HSDPA enabled and is one millimetre thicker than the RAZR MAXX.

Wait a minute, why the hell did they put such a minute screen on a slider? I mean slider is one form factor where you can have big screens!! |

Well, 1.9 inch isn't really that small, nor is it very big either. You're right with the fact that it's small for this form factor though. Also considering the size of the face, 106x46mm, the screen could've easily been a bit larger. I guess it's just because of the giant 'lip' at the bottom and the relative thinness. The D900 was thinner though.

The picture is of the V3xx and a 1.3MP. The RAZR MAXX is different and better and a 2MP.

Just another RAZR with cosmetics, without any "wow" factor at all on the specs.
Just still wonder why such phones like these (specially that RAZR) sold 50 millions units...

What does RDCL stand for? Radical?
Although the specs may not be too impressive, you could also consider that the W710 has very similar specs to the KRZR K1 and RIZR Z3. But really, the main aim for these companies is to earn profit, and if they can hide the not so impressive specs with an attractive (not in my eyes) design then so be it. You've got to admit that the MAXX does have some nice features, and is quite slim as well. At least these are a significant improvement over the original RAZR fashion phone.
